About Oxy-Acetylene Welding

A wise welder will always wear an apron, shop coat, or coveralls while welding with oxyacetylene equipment. It is very common for sparks to shoot away from the molten metal and caused damage to clothing if not protected. This damage may prove dangerous if it were to catch the person’s clothing on fire. Clothing catching on fire is always a safety risk for welders if they don’t use proper safety equipment and protective clothing.
With the protective clothing, the welder should always wear a pair of gloves as well. Occasionally, the hot end of the rod or piece of metal which might have temporarily been laid aside to cool can be picked up by mistake. Without gloves, injury is prone to happen.
